The information broker can be viewed as a facilitator that has been specialized in two ways: specialized to handle queries (as opposed to other types of goals); and specialized with domain-knowledge, which can be used to increase the range of answerable queries. As part of the specialization for query handling, the registry maintains several additional types of information about the registered sources, which a facilitator doesn’t normally carry.
