Short Biography
Dr. Guizhen Yang is currently a computer scientist in
Artificial Intelligence Center at SRI International. From August 2003 to August 2004,
he was an assistant professor in
Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
Prior to joining the faculty of University at Buffalo,
he was a postdoctoral researcher and adjunct research assistant professor in
Department of Computer Science,
Stony Brook University.
Dr. Guizhen Yang earned his PhD degree in Computer
Science from Stony Brook University in December 2002. He also received ME and
BS degrees in Computer Science from
Zhongshan (Sun Yat-Sen) University and
Peking University, P.R.China, in 1997 and 1994, respectively.
Research
Dr. Guizhen Yang's research focuses on practical as well as theoretical
aspects of data and knowledge management. His past and current research work spans
from Databases to Artificial Intelligence to Programming Languages. His professional
publications appear in highly refereed conferences such as ACM International Symposium
on Principles of Database Systems (PODS), ACM SIGKDD International Conference on
Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), International World Wide Web Conference (WWW),
ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM), IEEE
International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), and International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC).
