Chromaplex can be coupled with a monochrome digital video compressor to obtain full color video with the simplicity of monochrome processing. From lossless, low-rate, high-image-quality compression to the highest compression ratios (video-phone quality) attainable with monochrome systems, standard or not, can be coupled with Chromaplex for full color rendition without the additional requirements of conventional color processing.
For high-end applications where the highest picture quality (perceptually lossless) is required and a 3:1 compression ratio is sufficient, Chromaplex can be applied by itself at rates of the order of 60 frames per second with one million 24-bit-color pixels per frame.
