Stereo
Engine
SRI has developed an efficient implementation of area
correlation stereo, the SRI Stereo
Engine. The Stereo Engine algorithms can run efficiently
on many computational platforms, including standard PCs and
embedded processors.
Small Vision
System
The standard development environment, the Small
Vision System, runs on PCs under Linux or MS Windows.
The PC implementation is 3 to 4 times more efficient than
competing solutions, with support for camera calibration, 3D
reconstruction, and effective filtering. For embedded
applications, SRI offers consulting services for designing
standalone solutions using DSP processors (the Small
Vision Module).
Applications
The Small Vision System is in use at more than 30 research
institutions worldwide. Check out some of the applications
of stereo.
Stereo Hardware
You can run the Small Vision System with your own cameras, using its
simple calibration software. Or, you can get IEEE 1394 digital stereo
devices from Videre Design,
which have interfaces to SVS.
