All the twist knots are prime

This is quite simple once we have proved that the twist knots all have genus 1. Since we know that g(K#L) = g(K) + g(L), the genus of every composite knot must be at least 2. Since the twist knots all have genus 1, they must all be prime. This result clearly extends to any knot with genus 1.
