Personal
I'm currently a Computer Scientist in the Perception Group at the SRI
International Artificial Intelligence Center.
I obtained my M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College
Park in 2005 and 2007. I obtained my B.E. from the Birla Institute of
Technology and Science, Pilani, India and was an engineer in the Multimedia
Group at Sasken Communication Technologies in Bangalore, India.
I enjoy hiking, football (soccer), world cinema,
programming and tinkering with Linux and other open-source projects. I also read a bit and dabble in water colors and photography. My University of Maryland page has lots more ramblings of mine, including my movies page, linux page, books and other stuff. You can view some of my photographs on my Picasa page.

Research
My research interests lie in the broad area of Computer Vision,
Pattern Recognition and Image Processing. Some of the applications I have
worked on are human pose estimation (markerless motion capture),
stereo sensor based tracking, and perception and scene modeling for
robotic navigation and manipulation. I'm particularly interested in the
application of computer vision algorithms and techniques in real world
applications such as surveillance and robotic navigation and
manipulation. There is a more detailed description of the research
projects in the research page.
