Full TerraVisionTM 6.0 Distribution

Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP

The full version of TerraVisionTM is available across a number of Windows platforms. We use the Tcl/Tk language in order to give us a consistent user interface that works across Unix and Windows operating systems. You can install TerraVision by downloading the installer executable below and running this program. Once installed, you can run TerraVision from its entry in the Start/Programs menu.

N.B. Please note the following.

  • The full distribution does not include the TerraVision Netscape or ActiveX components. See the Plugins Download for those components.

  • Win95 users: TerraVisionTM will work under Windows 95, but you may have to install a number of packages that are not supplied in the out-of-the-box configuration. These include OpenGL support and the WinSock2 library. You can download these from the Microsoft web site.

Linux

The full Tcl/Tk TerraVision 6.0 interface is also available under the Linux operating system. This has been compiled under RedHat 7.3 on an i686 machine. The following link provides a gzipped tar file of this distribution. Please refer to the README file in the archive for further instructions.

Full TerraVisionTM 5.5 Distribution

Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP

The previous version of TerraVisionTM, version 5.5, is also available. You can install TerraVision by downloading the installer executable below and running this program.

SGI IRIX 6.5 and higher

The following links provide gzipped tar files of the latest TerraVision binaries, configurations files, and support material for the Silicon Graphics platform. There are two versions currently available for SGIs: the Tcl/Tk based interface and the X/Motif interface. The Tcl/Tk interface is recommended as this is the one being actively developed.

In order to install and run TerraVisionTM, the destination machine requires a total of approximately 10MB of free disk space. You can refer to the associated README file for installation instructions.

Linux

The full Tcl/Tk TerraVision 5.5 interface is also available under the Linux operating system. This has been compiled under RedHat 7.2 using the XFree86 4.1.0 X11 environment. The following link provides a gzipped tar file of this distribution. Please refer to the IRIX README file for installation instructions.
