File Format Descriptions:
- Tile Sets
A Tile set is the multiresolution format which TerraVision uses
to store the raw ortho-imagery and elevation data for a terrain model.
- Tspecs
The Tile Set Specification (tspec) files contain all information
(metadata) about a tile set (tile sets just contain raw pixel
data). For example, the size of an image, the number of pixel
components, the tile size, coordinate systems, description of area,
etc.
- Global
Databases
The Global Dataset Database is essentially a cache containing
descriptions for a set of available terrain datasets. These
datasets may be distributed over many different servers.
- GeoVRML Specification
This link takes you to the specification document for
GeoVRML 1.0. This is a standard extension to VRML97 for
supporting geographic applications.
