FREEDIUS is a portable, open-source toolkit for geospatial and image understanding research and development. FREEDIUS represents and manipulates images from various sources (including video) and has tools for sensor modeling, geospatial and cartesian coordinate systems and transformations, and geolocated 3D cultural features. Core libraries for FREEDIUS are written in C and C++ and are available as shared objects on Linux, Solaris, Irix, Windows, and (provisionally) Mac OS X. The FREEDIUS GUI subsystems are written in a combination of Lisp and C, and use Tcl/Tk and GTK as two alternatives for user interfaces and image display. Core display functions use OpenGL or SDL. FREEDIUS also has an extensive Video Understanding subsystem that handles DV and AVI formats, the SRI Small Vision System, and webcam video sources. The core FREEDIUS system is available from SRI at no charge under the Mozilla Public License. | |
