Software Description

The Open Agent ArchitectureTM (OAA®) is a framework for building distributed communities of agents, where agent is defined as any software process that meets the conventions of the OAA society. An agent satisfies this requirement by registering the services it can provide in an acceptable form, by being able to speak the Interagent Communication Language (ICL), and by sharing functionality common to all OAA agents, such as the ability to install triggers, manage data in certain ways.

Associated Projects

	Cognitive Assistant that Learns and Organizes As part of DARPAs Personalized Assistant that Learns (PAL) program, SRI and team members are working on developing a next-generation "Cognitive Agent that Learns and Organizes" (CALO).
	Deductive Composition of Multiple Data Sources A framework is being developed for composing answers to queries, using automated deduction and multi-agent information brokering, based on multiple information sources. The technology is being applied to answering geographical queries for ecological modeling, based on NASA EOSDIS satellite imagery, map data, and gazetteer information.
