In this seminar, we will describe a knowledge base system that encodes knowledge from 50 pages of a chemistry textbook, and answers questions about them that are drawn from an Advanced Placement test. We will give an overview of our approach for knowledge design, knowledge encoding, and explanation generation, and describe the test results. We will also characterize the strengths and weaknesses of our approach and discuss directions for future work. |
