   Abstract

This presentation will focus on the capabilities in Mathematica and SystemModeler for research and engineering applications, including 3D modeling. SystemModeler is a new high-fidelity modeling environment that uses versatile symbolic components across multiple domains, including electrical, mechanical, and biochemical pathways. It integrates with Mathematica to enable modeling, simulation, and analysis (of many types). This presentation will demonstrate SystemModeler, how it connects to Mathematica, and the new features in Mathematica 9. No Mathematica experience is required.

   Bio for Johan Rhodin

Johan Rhodin was part of the development team for the reliability analysis functionality that is now incorporated into the Mathematica 9 kernel, and a member of the MathCore team that developed the link between SystemModeler and Mathematica. Currently a kernel developer with Wolfram Research, Rhodin authors technical marketing material for SystemModeler and presents SystemModeler and Mathematica functionality at conferences and technical talks worldwide. Johan Rhodin holds a M.Sc. from Linköping University, Sweden.
