     in the area of computer assisted extraction of cartographic features. Several
     techniques that are well-suited to semi-automated photo-interpretation are
     described. These algorithms and others have been implemented within the framework
     of the Cartographic Modeling Environment, a highly capable, interactive programming
     environment that has been designed to facilitate the construction of image
     understanding systems.},
