It integrates commercial calendaring tools with state-of-the-art algorithms for scheduling, negotiation, and personalization. Careful design is intended to produce a user experience that reduces effort in day-to-day life. Designed to learn scheduling preferences over time, Emma is in deployment at our organization. In this extended abstract we describe the motivation, design, deployment and evaluation of the Emma system.
