in AAAI Fall Symposium on Internet Class Room
2008.In this paper, we give an overview of Project Halo, and how its technology could be applied to address the needs of an Internet Classroom. In particular, we describe how the creation of large-scale, socially-authored knowledge bases for classroom subjects, coupled with systems for answering sophisticated questions based on the information in these knowledge bases, can provide a revolutionary new method for students to interact with the subject matter of the curriculum.

Automated User-Centered Reasoning and Acquisition SystemThe goal of this project is to build a generic knowledge acquisition capability for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Using the system, the scientists will be able to formulate their knowledge in the three science domains, and the high school students will be able to pose Advanced-Placement style questions and get user appropriate explanations. |
