DARPAs Integrated Battle Command program (IBC) aims to support the commanders intuition, judgment, and creativity using flexible, intelligent decision aids. Unlike some previous efforts, IBC will focus on interactive methods that enable humans to guide the search for solutions, adding constraints as needed, choosing the right algorithms, and receiving automated support to help work out the details.
IBC aims to integrate decision aids using a flexible, loosely-coupled confederation architecture and smart confederation manager to act as the users agent and automate the process of creating a confederation of decision aids. SRI will be producing a mixed-initiative plan authoring system as part of the confederation. | |
