Mailing List!
All users of OAA are strongly encouraged to subscribe to, and
make use of, the oaa-users mailing list. There are no strings
attached; your email address will not be used for any other purpose
than the mailing list. Traffic is relatively light, but many useful
questions get asked and answered on the list.
To subscribe to the mailing list, please send mail
to oaa-users-request@ai.sri.com,
with "subscribe" in the Subject.
You will receive an acknowledgement of your request. Additional
information, including unsubscribe instructions, are available on the
Contact & Community page.
About this distribution
On the
Download
page, you will find both run-time (binary) and source code
distributions for the release 2.3.2 of OAA 2.
Source code is provided for all agent libraries, a number of tools and
a sample application composed of several agents.
On the
Documentation
pages, you will find a wide variety of documentation for the distribution
(considerably more than is included with the distribution).
The Documentation pages also include a copy of the distribution
release notes, and a version history. It's recommended that you refer to
the online release notes, rather than what's included in the download,
because the online notes may be more up-to-date.
OAA is a research prototype. While it has been used to build several
dozen systems, and thus can be considered robust, nevertheless it
should not be assumed to be appropriate for extremely large, highly optimized,
or mission-critical applications.
Open-Source License
Starting with version 2.3.2, OAA source code is released
under the GNU Lesser General Public License,
to encourage the sharing
of our vision (and code) of delegated computing. Suggestions
for code improvements and/or actual code are welcome.
