In order to create content, such as building models or terrain skins, that can be browsed within a digital earth, you need have tools to help generate these. These tools might include modeling packages to design 3D models, or utilities to convert existing content into a more usable form.

As part of SRI's TerraVisionTM system, we have released an open source C library and suite of tools to help produce terrain datasets that can be navigated within that browser. This library is referred to as the tsmApiTM, for Tile Set Manager Application Program Interface. The source code and binary distributions for this library can be found from:

For 3D models such as buildings or weather simulations we use the open GeoVRML 1.0 file format, and so any utility that produces GeoVRML content will be able to integrate with TerraVisionTM.
